Bhopal Gandhi Conference: 

Gandhi was Killed !  Educators have killed Gandhian Education ! Innovating  how to resuscicate  the Gandhian Education for current times 

Nai Talim is killed by the academics. It is fact.  There is enough proof to make such a sad comment.

1. Rarely Gandhian Educators acknowledge this.

2. Rarely explore this fact why it happened. NT has declined. NT is forgotten, and it is neglected and fading away. Of course, there is increasing need for such a pedagogical model.

Remembering Gandhian Education on the occasion of Gandhi 150 more than the responsibility, it is an opportunity there is enough is promised.  Even Gandhi will appreciate me of  this statement of mine. 

3. Properly pose the question. The phrase Nai Talim has FAILED  may be rewritten as ' Nai Talim is made to FAIL

Reason is that it offers 'better insight' into what and why and how NT has failed.
Possibility for many other questions will crop up  due to this trigger !

Why NT failed ? Why ? Why ? Why ? Why failed ?
What  is the problem ? Is there any analysis done by any agency and found out the reasons for failure of NT ?
Who is responsible and culprit for this ? Is Gandhi responsible for this ?
What need to be revived if at all to revive NT  !
Where went wrong ? Operational methods are wrong ?  Mis fit of methods ? Wrong audience used ?
Are there any other reasons for the pitiable state of NT ?
Is it blind faith and idiotic imitation of NT  the reason for this state ?
Are there alternate ways NT is  experimented anywhere ? What is the evidence ? Is there hope ?

Four Principles of Nai Talim are : Medium of instruction; 

Focus of this paper only on few Tenets of Basic Education .. Not all.. If anybody wants to explore you are welcome.

2 Practical Education

 - If anything went wrong in METHODISING the NT ? 


NT is.. Right thing for Wrong audience

- KG is big and wide spread difficult to implement , scaling up is also difficult 
- Logical but not Feasible 

NT Practice is.. Imitation not Innovation 

-  Idea - Solution - Product 
-  Making to Marketing 
-  Mono activity

-  Is it every subject  learning must  invariably use 'The Craft'  as  path for NT learning !
-  Every and any and every subject and learning  invents its own WORK to implement NT learning !
-  Is it blind and idiotic following is the reason ?
-  Or each faculty invent their own ways to operationalise the subject into their own ways of implementing NT !
 - Making to Marketing : Which end is the best to start with ?
-  KG or UG : Where to start NT ? Is there appropriate end to begin ?
- What  is Primacy in Gandhian Edn tenants ? Which is not ?

NT is related to school education. Clearly absent among UG and PG education.

1 Self Reliance (Productive Education )

  - Is self reliance the burning issue, feasible  issue and scalable issue  for KG students learning ?
 -  Does this more related other than KG students ( PG and UG ) With whom this  clicks well ?  
  - Is it easy to implement ( scale, distribution, age and energy etc.) Self reliance to KG or PG levels ? 
  - Where there is possibility of greater misunderstanding and misuse  when it is applied at KG levels or PG levels

3 Holistic Education  4 Medium of instruction .. Mother Tongue are the other two issues, this article chose not focus on. It is deliberate that better understanding is derived, and the authors also feel that there is need to focus on these two primary issues.

Objections for Gandhi NT scheme are

1. Most people have not EXPRESSED  but worked to NEGLECT it.
2. Integrity of the faculty is the issue
3. Need Craft based teachers .. not available
4. Found difficult to manage the complete value chain - Production to marketing of the produce
